On the opposite side of the pool is another
stone and timber house, resting on honey-coloured jackfruit
stilts and sandstone plinths characterising whimsical amphibious
creatures carved by the Ubud-born artist Wayan Cemul. The
STUDY GUEST-ROOM is cozy, air-conditioned and snug, containing
an intricately carved Chinese canopied bed with a 200x150-cm
mattress strewn with cushions. Dark turquoise walls, traditional
Ikat fabric, porcelain table lamps, a cane chair, a glass
cupboard equipped with a good selection of board games and
books, and a fiery Moroccan rug completes the picture. Next
door, serving the guestroom and the pool, is a washroom, shower and toilet approached through
antique doors.Stencilled borders and humorous artwork by Murniasih
decorate the walls. |
